5 new servers in three new locations were added to our VPN network in Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) and Secure Shell Protocol (SSH) are no longer supported. SSH & L2TP are reported to have security vulnerabilities.
Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) is slow, can easily be blocked by firewalls, and is reported to pose a security threat according to Edward Snowden and John Gilmore, one of the EFF founders.
Load the Nokia Mobile VPN from Nokia Store
Download and install Nokia Configuration Tool on your PC
Download the Nokia Mobile VPN Config Template
Start Nokia Configuration Tool and select from menu bar "Tools" then "VPN Configuration"
Open "My_mVPN_config.vpn" from the location you saved the file.
Change the Policy name to WASEL Pro VPN
Insert your preferred server IP address and insert "sharedsecret" for Pre-Shared Key.
In Nokia Configuration Tool select Tab Preshared Key and add one of the server IP addresses and PSK. Next save the configuration.
Transfer the saved .vpn file to your phone or send the file directly to the phone if it is connected to NCT
Open the file with File Manager to install the VPN policy. Go to Menu then Office then File Manager. Select C: Phone memory
Select folder Other and click on the My_mVPN_config.vpn. Note that you need to have the Nokia mVPN client installed on the device before installing then VPN policy file.
Answer Yes to the Install request.
